Kira Vargas is what happens when an engineering mind meets an unshakeable love for movement. A Carnegie Mellon University graduate with a B.S. in Materials Science Engineering, Kira spent five years in the tech industry before following her passion into fitness coaching — and she hasn't looked back since.
Over the past four years, Kira has built her coaching chops at a CrossFit gym in South San Jose, developing expertise across group classes, Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, gymnastics, and functional fitness. Her clients range from young adults finding their footing to seasoned athletes well into their 80s — proof that her approach translates across every age and ability level.
What makes Kira's perspective truly unique is that her fitness journey is personal. She's lost 25 pounds since starting CrossFit and experienced firsthand what consistency, patience, and showing up day after day can actually do. In a world obsessed with quick fixes and overnight results, Kira is a grounded, honest voice — advocating for small, deliberate steps that build not just strength and resilience, but genuine self-respect. Her philosophy is refreshingly simple: show up, work hard, and anything is possible.
The engineering background isn't just a fun fact — it shows up in the way she thinks, programs, and problem-solves for her clients. Precise, methodical, and deeply invested in the process.
When she's not coaching, you'll find Kira competing in CrossFit, dabbling in new sports, experimenting with ice baths, and never turning down a great meal.
