Trainer
James Frederick is a Personal Trainer at FiT, where science meets strategy to create long-term, life-changing results. Certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and holding multiple advanced credentials - including Barbell Rehab Method, Certified Conditioning Coach, and DVRT Level 1 - James specializes in bridging the gap between precision training and practical lifestyle change. With top strengths in relationship building, executing, and strategic thinking, James helps clients improve their quality of life by focusing on FiT’s five key tenets: Eating Strategy, Sleep Hygiene, Stress Management, Exercise Prescription, and Self-Care. He believes workouts are just one part of the equation - real change comes from addressing the habits, systems, and mindset that drive sustainable progress.
Before joining FiT, James built a diverse skill set that makes him as comfortable coaching a barbell lift as he is explaining the nuances of coffee brewing or teaching music theory. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, served as Director of Coffee and Education for Barefoot Coffee Roasters, and Lead Flexologist with a focus in applied stretching theory at Stretch Lab. Each of these experiences sharpened his ability to communicate complex concepts in simple, actionable ways.
Living in Campbell with his wife, young son, baby daughter, and their dog Ziggy, James balances his professional expertise with his personal passion for learning, lifting, running, music and cooking. His approach to training mirrors FiT’s philosophy: structure, strategy, and precision, all built on a foundation of care, trust, and human connection.
