Originally from the Bay Area, Katie found her passion with fitness while swimming and playing volleyball at a young age. While attending college in Chico, CA, her passion evolved as she began participating in CrossFit classes and weight training courses. During a strength and conditioning internship, Katie found herself drawn to personal training as a way to help individuals prevent injury and illness versus many of her classmates who were more interested in helping people recover from those ailments.
Following the completion of her degrees – Bachelor of Science in both Exercise Physiology and Nutrition with an emphasis in Sports, Katie received her certification as a personal trainer and began training at a corporate gym in Mountain View, CA. She went on to work as a personal trainer at a local gym and ultimately found a home where she feels surrounded by equally dedicated and passionate professional trainers here at FiT.
Katie added the CrossFit Level 1 Coaching Certificate to her qualifications along the way and is passionate about continuing her education in order to continue to add tools to her toolkit that will aid her clients in adopting and sustaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle. She enjoys helping each individual she works with learn to incorporate and, ideally, enjoy exercise as a form of self care, health optimization as well as physical and mental growth.
In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking in National Parks, spending time along the coast, and hanging out with her dog Lou.
